CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

(INFANTS THROUGH 5TH GRADE)

JESUS SAID, “LET THE LITTLE CHILDREN COME TO ME, & DO NOT HINDER THEM, FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN BELONGS TO SUCH AS THESE.”

MATTHEW 19:14

Raising children today is hard work.  Glenwood Methodist Church desires to come alongside parents and support them throughout the child-rearing years.  We offer many ways to foster that partnership and share the great news about Jesus with your children.  Our children’s ministry covers children from birth through 11 years old (5th grade).

SAFETY

The safety of your children is as important to us as it is to you.  All teachers and volunteers who work with children have received their clearances from the PA State Police and the PA child abuse history (Act 33/34).  In addition, all volunteers have completed Glenwood’s mandatory “Safe Sanctuary” training that outlines expected behaviors, safety measures, and signs of child abuse.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Our elementary Sunday School program covers Pre-K (4 years old) through Fifth Grade.  Our goal is to provide a safe and interactive learning time where the children can learn the stories of Jesus in a memorable and fun way.  Our purpose is to help support the biblical role given to parents to teach their children the lessons of the Christian faith.  Learning includes hands-on activities, music, and visual opportunities that bring the Bible stories to life..

GAME CLUB

Kids from 3rd-5th grade are invited to join us each week for a night filled with games and a Bible lesson.  Each week, it could be video games, group games in the gym, analog (board games) or something more.  We meet from 4:30-6pm with an optional kid-friendly dinner available from 6-6:30pm.  Contact the church office for more details or to get our calendar for this season.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Each year, we provide a high-energy one-week summer camp experience called Vacation Bible School. More info here!

TRUNK OR TREAT

On Halloween, we open our campus for a wonderful community event that is a safe place for the children in our neighborhood.  Watch our website and Facebook page for more information in October.
