The season of Lent is a time where we take stock of our lives. It is a time for reflection on our humanity and our relationship with God, our Creator. Part of this must always address the reality of our mortality – that we are dust and to dust we shall return. How we handle the knowledge of ultimate death has a tremendous impact on how we live our lives daily. Our Christian faith is rooted in the promise of resurrection and so we have the chance to look at death differently than those around us who don’t know Jesus. In Christ, we can learn how to “die well” and in so doing, we can live life fully and gloriously until then. This Lenten series will help us reflect more deeply on our mortality and what that has to teach us about following Jesus daily.
